Eligibility
Teachers must have an existing valid New York State classroom teacher certification and meet the admission requirements for at least one of the college partners.
You will want to consider New York State admission requirements for graduate degrees before applying to the T2L program because there is no leeway in admitting applicants who do not meet eligibility. You need:
- a 3.0 grade average in undergraduate education (applicants with a lower GPA will be considered if they can demonstrate “potential to positively contribute to the teaching profession or other extenuating circumstances”)
- Note: NYSED announced in Nov 2021 that a GRE exam is not required
- a valid NYSED Teaching Certificate
For additional admission requirements, please visit our college partners, Syracuse University or St. John Fisher College.
