This online course builds on the skills covered in our Level I course by providing teachers with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of G Suite and apply instructional best practices to create enhanced learning experiences for students. Participants will learn how to leverage digital tools to create differentiated assessments, provide student feedback and analyze student data. The course is led by current NYCDOE teachers who use G Suite tools in their classrooms.
Participants who successfully complete this course will demonstrate the ability to use technology to enhance assessment design and to ground instructional decisions in student data.
Successful enrollment in this course assumes that teachers they have GAFE accounts and devices for use with their students in the classroom context. To accomplish the objectives of this course, participants must have regular access to a computer or tablet, and Internet connectivity with sufficient bandwidth to accommodate the use of Google’s browser-based and/or mobile applications.

Russell West Jr
Russell West Jr. joined New Visions in 2011. He directs the Astor Center for Public School Libraries and the MicroCert professional development program for teachers, leaders and school-based staff; Russell also provides legal counsel to the management team. He came to New Visions after serving as director of Humanities College Preparatory, a small learning community at Hillcrest High School in Queens. His training in adult learning focuses on professional development workshops for secondary teachers and includes facilitation workshops lead by Joe McDonald, author of The Power of Protocols. As a teacher, administrator, and adult learning facilitator, Russell has formed and facilitated hundreds of groups of adult and adolescent learners.
